“I can’t believe I was chosen for this role,” exclaims
Maria about her stint as ELLIE in the film, “It was an
acting dream come true and the zenith to my film
career!” Maria’s other starring film roles include
STAR WARS, THE GODFATHER, RAIDERS OF THE
LOST ARK, GONE WITH THE WIND, CITIZEN KANE,
NORTH BY NORTHWEST, JURASSIC PARK, E.T.-THE
EXTRATERRESTRIAL, and DEUCE BIGALOW-MALE
GIGILO. She is the proud winner of seven ACADEMY
AWARDS, beating out Jack Nicholson and Katherine
Hepburn by several Oscars. Maria is no slouch
when it comes to the stage. She has recieved thirty-
six Tony nominations, winning an incredible twenty-
two. She travels often to New York and abroad to
privately coach leading players in creating classic
stage characterizations for new works. She is also
known for her charitible work at home and
throughout the world, having personally taken over
Mother Theresa’s workload at the time of her death.
“It was a bedside pledge I made just before the
moment of her passing,” recalls a misty-eyed Maria,
“She nodded and smiled and left this life knowing
all would be well in my capable hands...” Maria grew
up in the Circus. Her whole family participated in a
still world-famous trapeze act known as THE FLYING
KORZAKOVS. The darling of the bigtop, Maria left
the greasepaint and glamour behind at the tender
age of thirteen to pursue a doctorate in
aeranautical engineering at M.I.T. After receving
her fifth NOBEL PRIZE for science and literature,
Ms. Kress returned to Hollywood and the show
business that was in her blood. She lives in her
dream home above Los Angeles with three
thousand beanie babies and a small black and white
television set. “I still can’t believe they picked me
for this movie...it’s just the icing on the cake for a
girl like me!” says the always wistful Maria, " I might
actually add it to my resume!"
